Dr. Chandra Metgud
Presently working as Professor in the Department of Community Medicine, J N Medical College, Belagavi. After basic education in Hubballi, completed MBBS and MD in Community Medicine from J. N. Medical College, Belagavi. Secured 2nd rank to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru for examination of MD Community Medicine in the year 2004. In the year 2011, received Ph. D from KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research, Belagavi. Recipient of Best Teacher Award from KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research for the year 2007. Teaching and NAAC / IQAC work experience of 23 years and 10 years respectively.
Involvement includes guest lectures and radio talks promoting Women’s and Child Health, as well as membership in projects like the Perinatal Health Education Project, Adolescent Health Project, and ICHAP/KSAPS for HIV/AIDS. There are 45 publications in international and national journals, and guidance provided to over 20 undergraduate and postgraduate research projects. Executive membership is held with the Indian Association of Public Health (Karnataka State Chapter), and life memberships are held with the Indian Association of Community Medicine, Indian Association of Public Health, and Karnataka Association of Community Medicine.
